Born in Puebla (MX) in 1974 lives and works in Mexico and Italy. His work explores the relation between systems of representation and affectivity, and analogically, between power knowledge and insurrectional knowledge. With his actions, interventions and work on archives, he intends to cause tensions between institution, art practice and social field, abandoning flat semantics by producing programs that operate directly on the biological, social and economic bodies.
In Mexico he has shown in Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo – MUAC; Museo Universitario de Ciencias y Artes – MUCA-Roma; Museo de Arte Moderno – MAM; Museo Carrillo Gil – MACG; Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Museo Amparo in Puebla and Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros – SAPS. Abroad in Moscow’s National Center for Contemporary Art; Musée d’Art Contemporain du Val-de-Marne in Paris; Playspace Gallery in San Francisco; P74 Gallery in Ljubljana; Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Assab One and Isola Art Center in Italy; in Berlin at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, and at the artist-run-space A Certain Lack of Coherence in Oporto.
His work was featured in the Emergency Biennale traveling exhibition at the 10th Istanbul Biennial and in Resisting The Present: Mexico 2000-2012 held at Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and Museo Amparo in the City of Puebla, Mexico. Since 2012 he is presenting an ongoing project called Tiempo Muerto passing through Kunstraum München, MUCA-Roma in Mexico City, Tranzitdisplay in Prague and in the collective show Altars of Madness (2013) held at Casino Luxembourg and Confort Moderne in Poitiers.
