“Let’s play with art!”

Organized by Stradevarie Creative
Experimentation inspired by the exhibition INDEX FALLS by Santiago Morilla, at the Marble Museum in Carrara until August 31st.

For children ages 5 to 10.

Saturday June 29th – from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m.
“Architects for a day!” Building and decorating classic pediments using an array of materials.

Saturday July 20th – from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m.
“The city in colour” Reinventing a portion of the city using the technique of “visual mapping”

Saturday August 3rd – from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m.
“Watch out, don’t fall!” Experiencing zero gravity through games and photographs.

 

 

“The body in marble”

Organized by Policardia Bambinanza Massa-Carrara
Theatre workshops employing physical expression, traditional folk songs, and rhythms produced using everyday objects, to convey the gestures of those whose lives are centred around marble.

For children ages 7 to 11.

Saturday July 6th – from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m. “Life in the quarries”
Discovering the typical roles and jobs of those who live the life of the quarries.

Saturday July 27th – from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m. “The quarrymen’s chants”
Learning the folk chants that quarrymen would sing while working.

Saturday August 10th – from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m. “Dancing marble”
The life of marble is a choreography we will try to invent.

 

Snack Party at the Museum

Saturday August 31st
Children who have participated in the DATABASE 2013 summer workshops and their parents are invited to a final event at the Museum, during which they will demonstrate what they have learned and display what they have created during their learning experience at the Museum.

Marble Museum: Viale XX Settembre 85, località Stadio Reservation is mandatory.
