
Sandro Del Pistoia
Born in Viareggio in 1975, following a degree in Architecture from the University of Florence, he completed his training at the Fine Arts Academy of Carrara.
His works are collected in Italy and abroad – in Holland and Luxemburg for example – by prestigious collectors such as Maison FENDI, for which he produced a three-day performance – Fatto a mano for the future, “Handmade for the future” – for the Milan Salone del Mobile in 2011.
His debut came in 2006 at the 12th Carrara Biennale Internazionale, and he was later also selected for the Pisa Biennale and the Premio Mastroianni Sculpture Biennale in Turin.
He participated in Networking, Interaction and conflict, with the Austrian group “Social Impact”, curated by Giacomo Bazzani and in the Teseco art workshop, ‘Cities from below,’ with “Chto Delat?,” curated by Marco Scotini.
A joint piece crafted in 2008 by del Pistoia and La Spezia artist Giuliano Tomain was showcased at Camec – Contemporary Art Museum, in La Spezia, and at the Galata Sea Museum in Genova.
His production includes two solo shows (2009, 2013) at the Margini Gallery (Massa), curated by Federica Forti; and the 2012 group show Rexistenz, curated by Alessandro Romanini (Pietrasanta).He has recently completed a large site-specific installation for the private collection of the Visual Arts Center.
